From a financial perspective, initial evaluation and medical (involving medications, and other routine office calls) management may be provided through our sister organization, Associates in Dermatology. Associates in Dermatology has insurance relationships with many of the major providers. Fees for such services may therefore be submitted directly to a patients' insurance company.
The surgical care for HS may be more involved than that normally recognized by insurance carriers. As yet, there is no identified code which describes the nature of the laser-surgical procedure we have found to be most effective. In order to be able to provide the required quality of care, the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Institute does not have any formal relationships with insurance providers. We will be happy to work with all insurance companies, supplying a complete description of all services to be provided.
The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Institute (HSI) has been created to advance the understanding and management of HS. In spite of the fact that hidradenitis suppurativa affects about 1% to 4% of the population, the condition is frequently misdiagnosed, and inadequatly treated. The physicians and nurses with the HS Institute are dedicated to improving all facets of the disease.
