March 2013: Members of the largest, national dermatology organization, the American Academy of Dermatology meet each Spring to discuss current trends and new research in all aspects of dermatologic care. It is the most widely attended meeting in the United States, and attracts physicians from all over the globe.
Dr. Hazen was invited to lecture on the surgical treatment of HS. His presentation included a video of the CO2 laser surgery on patients with advanced HS and was well received by participants. Dr. Hazen’s talk was part of a larger program on HS that included recognition and treatment of the disease with presentations by Drs Robert Lee from University of California-San Diego, and Gregor Jemec.
