April, 2014: At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, an update concerning the causes, medical and surgical treatments for hidradenitis was presented. The general meeting was attended by over 8,000 dermatologists from world-wide locations.
Over 500 dermatologists attended the Forum devoted to hidradenitis. Exciting research observations identifying possible causes of the condition were presented. Speakers included Dr. Robert Lee from UC-San Diego, Dr. Gregor Jemec from Roskilde, Netherlands, Dr. William Danby from Dartmouth Medical Center, and Dr. Paul Hazen of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Institute.
