March, 2015: At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, held in San Francisco, a Forum devoted to the condition took place. Speakers addressed the issues of causes, medical and surgical treatments. An additional Hidradenitis Suppurativa Symposium is scheduled to take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in June as part of the World Congress of Dermatology meeting.
A number of sessions were devoted to Hidradenitis Suppurativa and related conditions. Exciting review information was presented by Dr. Gerd Plewig MD, FRCP, Professor of Dermatology in Munchen, Germany, regarding causes and therapies. An additional Forum was also devoted to the condition, with reviews and updates surrounding causes, medical and surgical treatments.
