Dr. Paul Hazen has accepted a position on the Board of Directors with the HS Foundation.
The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation was founded in 2005 as a 501c3 non-profit in California. Co-founder, Dr. Christos C. Zouboulis of Germany has taken over as president of the HS Foundation after originally being led by the former president and co-founder Michelle Barlow of San Diego, CA.
"The mission of the Hidradentitis Suppurativa Foundation, Inc. (HSF) is to foster and encourage worldwide research by developing and supporting an interdisciplinary family of scientists and physicians devoted to studying the molecular and cellular basis of Hidradentitis Suppurativa (HS), in order to develop and deliver more effective forms of treatment and preventative measures for those with this common, debilitating, and eminently chronic disease."
The collaboration between Dr. Hazen, the Hidradenits Suppurativa Institute (HSI), and other members of the HS Foundation will help to push the care and knowledge of the disease forward as well as to help raise awareness.
The HS Foundation website is back up and running at www.hs-foundation.org. The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation is a non-profit and accepts tax deductible donations.
